About the role
My client, a rapidly growing service provider, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their team of 3rd line engineers. The successful candidate will focus on Servicedesk duties, with the opportunity to get involved with project work. As a successful candidate, you will be liaising with our customers (fellow IT professionals) with complex problems and change requests as we help them co-manage their Network and Security solutions.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have excellent telephone skills, be friendly, well-organised, and have a great rapport with our customers. They will be able to clearly understand a customer's problem, ensure it is logged correctly, and resolved within a timely manner.
Key requirements for the role are:
1. Minimum CCNA certification. CCNP level certification/expertise.
2. Strong Layer 2 & 3 Networking expertise.
3. Strong Security Awareness principles and practice.
4. Excellent communication skills and willingness to work remotely and on-site with customers.
5. The ability to work both autonomously when required, or as part of a close team when collaborating on a wider solution/fault.
6. Experience with several of, or all of WAN, LAN, Data Centre switching and Security (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet and Zscaler).
7. Experience handling, managing and resolving customer support incidents (Ticket Management).
8. The ability to liaise effectively with service providers (TalkTalk, Vodafone, GTT etc.).
9. Experience of dealing with vendor TAC support services (Cisco TAC/Fortinet/Microsoft etc.).
10. Knowledge or understanding of Software Defined Networking and SD-WAN.
11. Willingness to learn new technologies and apply them to their role.
12. UK Driving Licence.
