The NIHR GOSH Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is seeking an exceptional clinical academic to lead its next phase of growth and impact. Operating as a partnership between Great Ormond Street NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) and UCL’s Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (UCL GOS ICH), the GOSH BRC is the UK’s only NIHR-funded BRC focused entirely on childhood diseases.
As Director of this acclaimed institution, you will drive cutting-edge research and innovation, ensuring that pioneering discoveries translate into real-world treatments for children with rare and complex conditions. You will lead a thriving multidisciplinary team and play a key role in developing the next NIHR BRC funding bid, securing resources to advance life-changing breakthroughs in areas such as gene and cellular therapies, genomic medicine, informatics, and tissue engineering.
This role requires an internationally recognised leader in translational child health research, at Chair level, with a proven track record of securing major research funding, shaping high-impact strategic agendas, and mentoring future research leaders. You will have a deep understanding of the UK’s translational research landscape, strong academic credentials, and the ability to foster collaborations with industry, government, and clinical partners.
Joining GOSH and UCL GOS ICH means becoming part of two globally-recognised research powerhouses, working at the forefront of paediatric medicine and innovation.
If you are ready to lead a world-class centre dedicated to improving children's health through cutting-edge research, we would love to hear from you.
