We are looking for positive and resilient people to join the Starfyn Education Family in a long term, full time, SEN TA role!
One of our schools caters for students, aged between 16 to 19 years. The school support students with social, emotional and mental health needs, focusing on supporting their children and young adults to focus on building towards gaining the qualifications and necessary skill-sets to lead fulfilling lives.
We are looking for staff who want to support vulnerable young people in a safe and secure environment. The Role:
Employment Type – Agency (Either long term Temporary or Temporary - Permanent).
Days Required – Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4pm (Full time).
Pay - £95 to £100 per day PAYE (Dependant on experience).
The Ideal Candidate:
To be considered for the role, the desirable candidate will have previous experience of working within a similar School, College or Provision. However, we will also consider candidates that have some of the following:
Youth Work experience.
Mental Health Support Work experience.
Social work experience or qualifications.
Psychology degrees recently graduated also accepted.
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualifications or above preferred, but not necessary.
Your Main Duties:
Offer support for the school’s students before, during and after their lessons.
Aiding students with their understanding and participation in tasks.
Help promote each student’s love of learning.
Actively taking part in team meetings.
Always follow the regulations pertaining to safeguarding.
When required, support individual’s needs, including assisting with a wide range of medical and occasionally, personal care tasks and physical support where needed (Training will be provided in giving medical care and support).
Working either on a 1:1 or group basis to support learning.
Inspiring and engaging with children with a wide range of additional learning needs.
Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils, which may include feeding, changing and manual handling (TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL).
As an agency worker you are only paid for the days you have worked. Therefore, you will not be paid during the school holidays.
