Early Years and Flying Start Family Support Lead
Salary: £39,513.00 to £43,693.00 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term post until 31/03/2026 due to grant funding
Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced early years family support professional to join our highly skilled Early Years and Flying Start Team, as our Flying Start Early Years Family Support Lead.
This fast paced, high-energy team is looking to expand. It's an exciting time for early years services, with the expansion of Flying Start rolling out, and family support services developing to enrich the communities and families that need us most of all.

The main duties of the post:
* To support the Early Years and Flying Start Manager in ensuring the success of the Flying Start and Early Years Family Support programmes in Neath Port Talbot, including ensuring compliance of the Welsh Government Flying Start Programme guidance in relation to Family Support and Outreach.
* Take a lead role in working with multiagency partners such as social services and health services to ensure Flying Start Outreach is co-ordinated effectively, ensuring positive outcomes for families.
* Develop and support clear, equitable, integrated multiagency pathways for family support service within early years in Neath Port Talbot.
* Oversee the successful management of Early Years and Flying Start Family Support services within the Early Years and Flying Start Team.
You will have experience of:
* Management within an education/children's/early years' service or a related field.
* Large team management, with successful outcomes shown.
* Multi-agency partnership working in the early years sector.
* Successful project management, including managing a budget, monitoring and evaluation.
* Extensive community development and outreach work, particularly with young children and families.
* High level report writing, ideally Welsh Government programme management.
* Working within the safeguarding and child protection arena.
Ideally you will have:
* A professional qualification to a degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject i.e. management/family support/childcare/early years/education/health/social care.
* Extensive knowledge of the Flying Start programme and other Welsh Government initiatives, which seek to target support for pre-school children and their families.
* In-depth knowledge of early intervention/prevention programmes for children and families.
* Thorough knowledge of legislation, guidance and standards relating to Early Years provision.
* A good understanding of the health needs of 0-4 year olds and the role of health professionals in supporting children and families.
