As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in overseeing the commercial and contractual aspects of highways maintenance projects. Your work will focus on paving, street lighting, and surfacing, ensuring accurate cost control and efficient financial management across the board.
Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor
1. Oversee cost management for highways maintenance, including paving, street lighting, and surfacing.
2. Prepare and review detailed budgets, forecasts, and reports, ensuring cost efficiency.
3. Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and agreements.
4. Conduct regular valuations, cost tracking, and final accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
5. Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve commercial issues.
6. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
7. Assist in procurement and negotiation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
8. Provide commercial support to the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements for Quantity Surveyor
1. Proven experience in highways maintenance projects, with a focus on paving, street lighting, and surfacing.
2. Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.
3. Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
4. Excellent cost management, valuation, and reporting skills.
5. Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with experience dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
