As the home deputy safeguarding lead have day to day responsibility for safeguarding across the home including: To act as a champion ambassador for the home in the capacity of adults at risk. To provide leadership on all aspects of adults at risk within the home To champion safeguarding within the home ensuring that it has a high profile within the organisation. To advise volunteers and staff within the home on safeguarding issues (including implementation of policy, working with service users, development of services, policy developments – both national, regional and local developments, service audits etc). Create and maintain residents care plan and communicate effectively in the home to ensure person centred care for all residents within 72 hours of admission and ensure that the resident and families are involved in care planning. Ensure that care plans and risk assessments are reviewed as per company requirements. To ensure Safeguarding Policies are adhered to, to protect and safeguard vulnerable people To ensure that resident’s rights are always respected and in line with the Human Rights Act and Mental Capacity Act 2005 and ensuring Deprivation of Liberty (DOL) guidelines are always followed. To ensure that residents are safeguarded from physical, verbal, financial or material, psychological or sexual abuse, neglect, discriminatory abuse, or self-harm, inhuman or degrading treatment, through deliberate intent, negligence, or ignorance, in accordance with written policies. To ensure that all residents be assessed prior to admission, evidencing that their needs can be met at the home and that emergency admissions be assessed within 24 hours. To demonstrate the home’s capacity to meet the assessed needs (including specialist needs) of all individuals admitted to the Home To ensure that the complaints procedure is always adhered to, and that all complaints are dealt with in writing and to ensure a positive outcome. To ensure that all staff have been subject to a robust recruitment procedure in line with company policy.
