Allwyn Finance graduate programme
The Allwyn Finance Graduate scheme is essential in ensuring we develop a pipeline of early talent for Allwyn. We offer opportunities across a number of finance areas, ensuring that you experience an exciting mix of day-to day finance business activities whilst also gaining an invaluable accounting qualification to set you up for the future.
You’ll gain a unique insight into the operations of the National Lottery with exposure to a variety of stakeholders and many business areas. You will gain lots of experience with us, we are a hard-working team but we also have lots of fun. At Allwyn we commit to providing you with the support that you need, every step of the way. The finance graduate programme is a three-year programme during which you will complete and gain an ACCA accounting qualification. You will complete 3 x 1 year role rotations within finance, all of which have been designed to give you the fullest experience and enable you to complete your required finance qualification experience record, so that you can become a fully qualified accountant. Each year you will also be required to sit (and pass first time) approximately four accounting exams. To give you the best possible chance of passing, Allwyn will support you by paying for you to attend lessons. You will need to pass the exams and complete your work experience record to become a fully qualified accountant.

Finance graduates will complete a one-year rotation in three of the following areas below. To help you understand a but more about finance at Allwyn we have provide a brief overview of the responsibilities of each of the finance departments that offer graduate opportunities:
Ø Financial Accounting:
· Responsibility for the reporting integrity of the group and statutory accounts by ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and adopting balance sheet and journal excellence.
· Stakeholders are Group Finance (in Prague), Commercial Finance, Trust Finance, the External Auditors and senior finance colleagues.
Ø Tax:
· Responsibility: Ensure that the UK Allwyn Group of companies are optimised in terms of compliance with tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements. Commercial acumen is required as tax considerations and implications are at the forefront of many strategic decisions (for example, with acquisitions and transfer pricing). The Tax team will also prepare and review tax returns, including corporate tax, VAT, and personal income tax.
· Stakeholders are Group Finance, Group Tax, HMRC, Commercial Finance, the External Auditors and senior finance colleagues.
Ø Commercial Finance:
· Responsibility: Supporting management by providing high-quality analysis, information, budgeting and forecasting to enable informed decision-making that will have a direct impact on the financial performance of a business.
· Stakeholders include the wider commercial business, Financial Accounting, Treasury, Group Finance, the Gambling Commission, the External Auditors and other senior finance colleagues.
Ø Trust and Compliance:
· Responsibility: Ensure that lottery players money is always protected by moving money received by Allwyn into Trust and undertaking the weekly and daily reporting needed to be able to pay prizes to winners and make payments to Good Causes. This includes first and second line assurance and compliance activities and introduction to gaming systems, compliance activity and reporting.
· Stakeholders include the Financial Accounting, Treasury, the Trustee’s, the Gambling Commission, the External Auditors and other senior finance colleagues.
Ø Treasury:
· Responsibility: The Treasury team ensures the business has financial liquidity so that it can meet its internal and external obligations. This is achieved through robust cashflow forecasting and ensuring that the bank accounts have sufficient monies to pay prizes and good causes.
· Stakeholders include the Trust team, the Commercial finance team, Group Treasury, banks and financial institutions, and other senior colleagues across finance.
Requirements
Key Skills and Experience:
· Achieved a minimum of a 2.1 degree (Finance related subject).
· Have had experience in paid employment
· Bright, highly analytical and intellectually agile, able to learn and manage complexity quickly.
· A strong collaborator, with an ability to build constructive working relationships.
· Strong attention to details
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
· High level of personal integrity
