We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced pharmacist to join our team. We are looking for a resourceful, enthusiastic and motivated professional to lead on exceptional service delivery with a desire to thrive and learn in a clinically focused team.
Someone with a focus on professional and service development and a desire to motivate pharmacists, technicians and members of the wider multidisciplinary team. Applicants should have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to prioritise, plan and direct workload and have experience of supporting and developing colleagues.
Our Pharmacy is a friendly, progressive department where clinical services are led by our Consultant Pharmacists and provided in a supportive team environment. Our team is a respected integral part of the wider multidisciplinary team where pharmacists are aided by a team of medicines optimisation technicians and assistants. We pride ourselves on our high standards of pharmaceutical input and investment in innovative technologies and professional development to ensure the best possible patient care.
Applicants should have a post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent experience), and significant experience of clinical pharmacy.
Main duties of the job
* Provision of expert clinical pharmacy services in accordance with Trust requirements to in-patients, including:
o personal delivery of expert clinical pharmacy,
o provision of expert advice at a policy and individual patient care level,
o provision of leadership, clinical supervision and mentorship to other pharmacists, technicians and assistants,
o provision of pharmaceutical advice to divisional teams
* To lead, organise, manage and develop services provided by the team
* To work closely with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist and Chief Technician to ensure optimal team performance, staff distribution and service delivery.
* Work with the other Lead and Consultant Pharmacists to ensure there is expert pharmacy support for all specialities.
* Provision of specialist training
* Leads and develops audit for the areas of responsibility, participates in clinical trials and practice research.

Person specification
Qualifications/Training
* MPharm 4 year pharmacy degree (or previously accredited BPharm or BSc [Pharm])
* Successfully completed pre-registration year and registration examination leading to Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), (or other accredited route to membership for non-UK trained pharmacist).
* Post-graduate Diploma (M level) in Clinical Pharmacy
* Evidence of CPD covering a range of relevant post qualification education and experience.
* Post-grad Master's degree in clinical pharmacy
* Non-medical prescribing
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience in hospital pharmacy across a range of services
* Clinical pharmacy experience practicing at specialist level (level 2 equivalent)
* A good theoretical knowledge of the clinical and pharmacological issues relating to the relevant patient group.
* Evidence of developing evidence based prescribing guidelines and policies
* Demonstrates the characteristics of an effective role model and has experience of mentoring others.
* Experience of training and formal teaching (e.g. delivery of tutorials as part of a clinical diploma programme).
* Experience of managing/leading a team of pharmacists and technicians in a clinical context.
* Provision of professional advice at Directorate/Divisional Management Team level (or equivalent).
