Home Care Supervisor
Job Description
CEL Homecare are an independent domiciliary care provider in the North-east and Cumbria. We are looking for Community Supervisors to join our home care teams in Thornaby, Ingleby Barwick and Yarm (3 positions). These are ideally full-time positions (although the exact hours are negotiable) for experienced home care assistants to support our service users in the community, but also supervise and mentor our home care worker team. We guarantee you contracted hours and offer great flexibility wherever possible. These are mobile positions, so possession of a valid driving licence and your own transport is essential.
Hourly Rate: £13.50 per hour +35p per mile mileage
What does the job entail?
Our role of Community Supervisor is both office and community based. You will, as part of your week, be working in the community, helping those whose well-being requires support from us to live where they wish to live, namely in their own homes. Our Community Supervisors also advise, mentor, support and train our home care assistants. As part of the role, you will be expected to undertake spot-checks and observations on care staff under the direction of Care Manager Rachel. You may also be required to help Rachel coordinate our care rounds and support her to assess and review our support to service users. An essential part of the job will be holding the on-call telephone on agreed weekends to answer queries from staff, clients, and family members.
What do we provide as standard?
* Organise, and pay for, your Enhanced DBS;
* Provide paid mandatory training, internal training in the job role, and enroll you on our apprenticeship scheme to complete NVQ Levels 3 and 4;
* Provide paid shadow training with an experienced staff member so you are confident to work independently and know all our staff and clients;
* Provide regular paid staff group meetings, and mentoring and supervision sessions with a care manager, to support your professional development;
* Provide guaranteed hours of work designed around our personal circumstance.
Are you the right kind of person?
Because of the nature of the job, you will need a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle. The people we support need help most days so you should be willing to work some weekends and evenings. We are looking for caring, social, conscientious people who are willing to learn new skills. Experience in providing social care is essential for this position, while experience as a senior care worker or care supervisor would be advantageous. Possession of an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is preferred although not essential as full training and enrolment on the Apprenticeship scheme can be provided for the right candidate.
