Develop Systems Engineering processes, such as requirements management, validation planning, and acceptance criteria definition.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead, review, and deliver requirements management activities across various stages of the Process / Plant development lifecycle. This will include capture and definition of requirements as well as managing and communicating change.
2. Work with internal and external partners and suppliers to scope work packages and prepare specifications, then drive them through to successful delivery.
3. Through clear definition and management of work package requirements, enable robust cost and time control of our chemical process development projects.
4. Define and manage verification and validation activities.
5. Further support chemical process development by providing engineering input, such as:
1. HAZOP / HAZID
2. System FMEA
3. Electrical and controls design
4. P&ID / PFD
5. Logic diagrams
6. Component selection
7. Test and experiment design and execution.
6. Coach, train, and mentor others in the company to develop the team's understanding and capability in Systems Engineering principles, tools, and methods.
Essential Qualifications:
1. A degree in electrical, chemical, or similar engineering, or equivalent level of experience.
2. At least two years' experience in a role with significant systems engineering content.
3. The ability to perform engineering mathematical calculations, such as electrical power, heat, and flow.
4. Competent computer skills such as Excel formulae, Visio, and CAD drafting software.
5. Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties, and handle multiple tasks safely under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
6. The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner.
7. Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.
8. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy.
