Location: West London, UK – Hybrid role – 3x a week on-site
Reports To: Regulatory Affairs Manager
An exciting opportunity to join a top-tier food manufacturer renowned for its market-leading products and industry leadership. This role as a Specification Manager has become available for a 12-month fixed-term period.
The Specification Manager is responsible for generating, validating, and approving finished product specifications for all customers and ensuring compliance with EU/UK regulations. This role involves managing projects, providing technical and regulatory support for customer inquiries, and ensuring accurate labelling and artwork approval.
Key Responsibilities:
* Generate, validate, and approve finished product specifications on various platforms.
* Understand raw material specifications and labelling requirements.
* Manage change controls for specification updates and communicate with stakeholders.
* Participate in internal and external audits of finished product specifications.
* Generate, validate, and approve pack copies.
* Ensure labelling complies with EU and UK standards.
Regulatory:
* Maintain a thorough understanding of EU and UK regulations.
* Assess the impact of regulatory changes on the company’s product categories.
* Manage project timelines and deadlines.
Customer Enquiries:
* Provide technical support and information to customers.
* Work closely with customer service and retail/food service teams.
Requirements for this position:
* Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, or a related field.
* Experience in the food and beverage industry is a MUST.
* Experience in specifications and artwork approval in the food industry (3-5 years preferred).
* Participated in Regulatory responsibilities.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong analytical thinking and presentation skills.
* Team player with the ability to work independently.
* Thorough understanding of UK and EU regulatory standards.
Please note this role is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering the current Specification Manager while on maternity leave. This role does require an office presence of 2 to 3 days per week in the office in West London.
