Permanent Role: Junior Buyer
£30,000 p.a plus benefits based on experience
Career Opportunity: Birmingham based residential groundworks company, looking to add a Junior Buyer to their expanding team, very busy with upcoming projects.
Duties:
1. Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
3. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve cost-effective deals.
4. Monitor and analyse market trends to anticipate changes in material costs and availability.
5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
6. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations.
7. Manage inventory levels and logistics to optimize efficiency and minimise project delays.
8. Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Requirements:
1. Solid understanding of materials, specifications, and supply chain management.
2. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms and pricing.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
4. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
5. Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Renumeration:
Up to £30,000 p.a dependant on experience
