In this pivotal role, you will oversee the execution of health, safety, quality, and environmental (SHEQ) programmes across our client's operations. Travel Requirement:
Regular travel to sites located in the South East and less commonly UK wide.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Development: Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve the client’s HSEQ goals, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices.
2. Promoting a Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and sustainability across all levels of the organisation.
3. Site Oversight: Conduct regular site visits to monitor activities, perform welfare checks, and execute safety and quality observations. Provide guidance to personnel, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
4. Compliance Inspections: Conduct inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
5. Employee Training: Collaborate with various business divisions to ensure comprehensive on-boarding and HSQE training for new employees. Maintain accurate training records.
6. Project Support: Act as the liaison on SHEQ matters between clients and the business. Prepare Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), perform risk assessments, and manage permits.
7. Advising Stakeholders: Provide expert guidance to management, employees, contractors, and suppliers on SHEQ-related matters.
8. Incident Management: Oversee timely completion of incident reports, assist in post-accident investigations, manage care for workplace injuries, and coordinate Occupational Health Clinic visits and return-to-work evaluations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Proven SHEQ Management experience in Highways or Utilities sectors.
2. NEBOSH General Certificate.
3. Proficiency in fall protection, confined space entry, gas detection equipment, respiratory equipment, and general PPE.
4. Knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards is advantageous.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications.
