The Job
As an Estimator, you will be a key part of the commercial team, providing accurate and timely estimates for a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Working across frameworks you will help ensure bids and pricing strategies align with project requirements and deliver value for both the company and our clients.
Key responsibilities:
* Preparing detailed and accurate estimates for civil engineering and rail projects.
* Reviewing tender documents, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements.
* Developing cost plans and pricing schedules from schedules of rates.
* Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes.
* Analysing project risks and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
* Collaborating with the commercial team to ensure estimates are submitted on time and align with strategic objectives.
About You
You are an experienced Estimator with a background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects. You have a strong understanding of estimating principles, cost planning, and tender processes, and can work confidently with schedules of rates and contract documents. Knowledge of NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract is highly advantageous.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in an Estimator role within a civil engineering or construction environment.
* HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering or Commercial Management.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.
* Experience preparing estimates for projects in rail, roads, or infrastructure is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
