Our operations span across the Midlands, and we are looking for a motivated individual to support our plant management functions, ensuring our construction equipment is effectively managed and deployed. The Role: As an Assistant Hire Controller / Assistant Plant Manager / Plant Assistant, you will support our plant team in the administration and coordination of various construction plant equipment, such as excavators, dumpers, rollers, and more. Your role will involve ensuring the smooth operation of plant logistics, maintenance schedules, and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities: Assist in coordinating the hire, allocation, and deployment of plant equipment for various construction sites. Support the plant team with administrative tasks, including maintaining records, processing hire agreements, and managing inventory. Monitor and schedule maintenance and servicing of plant equipment to ensure optimal performance. Liaise with site managers and external suppliers to facilitate timely delivery and collection of plant machinery. Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to plant hire and equipment. Assist in tracking and reporting on plant usage, costs, and availability. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies in all plant operations. Maintain accurate documentation and records for all plant-related activities. Requirements: Previous experience in a plant management, hire coordination, or similar role within the construction industry is desirable. Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and external contacts. Proficiency in administrative tasks and use of relevant software tools. Basic understanding of construction plant equipment and their functions is advantageous. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Full UK driving license is preferred.
