Alternative Provision Tutor/Trainer – South Tyneside (September 2025 Start)
Are you passionate about helping young people and young adults re-engage with education and develop essential life skills (inclusive of Enterprise and Music)? Do you have experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and English in an alternative setting? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new Alternative Provision in South Tyneside, set to open in September 2025.
This provision is dedicated to supporting learners aged 14 to 25 who require a more personalised and flexible learning approach, helping them build confidence, achieve qualifications, and develop the skills needed for life beyond education.
The Role:
Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English to learners aged 14 to 25, ensuring lessons are engaging, accessible, and tailored to individual needs.
Incorporate life skills into the curriculum, helping students develop essential independence, employability, and social skills.
Work with small groups of 15-20 learners in the first year, ensuring each student receives the support they need.
Teach through a blended learning approach, with a mixture of classroom-based sessions and community-based learning, using real-world environments to enhance engagement and understanding.
Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH needs, SEND, and barriers to learning.
