Operational Underwriting Team Manager
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Operational Underwriting Team Manager in GI Distribution & SME- Commercial.
As a Team Manager, you’ll establish and lead a team of around 20 people. The successful candidate will have strong Insurance and/or leadership experience and be responsible for the operational performance of the team.
They will work alongside another Underwriting Team Manager and the Senior Underwriters to enable the delivery on the profit/loss, revenue, capability, resource, governance and engagement of the team.
A bit about the job:
* Ensuring the team have appropriate work allocated to them at all times so that policy requests are processed in good time.
* Ensure team are up to date on all training / upskilling needed to deliver great customer service.
* Drive engagement and effectively manage any underperformance within the team.
* Ensure digital adoption and consistency of approach on ways of working to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ensure the underwriters are visible & responsive in the market to optimise trading & service.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Excellent communication, listening, time management and negotiating skills.
* Able to analyse risks, communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
* Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation.
* Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases.
* Strong education background, previous commercial underwriting experience an advantage.
What you’ll get for this role:
* Salary of Circa £37,000 (depending on location, skills, experience and qualifications).
* Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
