Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our friendly, expanding, and highly skilled team at East Surrey and Crawley Hospitals. You will have two years’ experience working in an acute setting. You will be assessing, caring for, and recovering patients undergoing Endoscopy. You will assist clinicians and specialist nurses with all endoscopic procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, over a six-day working week.
Some key components of this role include:
* Working closely with Endoscopists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
* Leading in the procedure room as an expert in delivering a wide range of advanced therapeutic endoscopic interventions including management of GI Bleeds.
* Assisting in monitoring standards of nursing care and taking appropriate action to maintain and improve the Endoscopy patient experience.
* Participating in the out-of-hours/GI bleed rota.
* Participating in the pre-assessment rota.
* Contributing to the training and development of staff.
Main duties of the job

Our Endoscopy Services are JAG accredited. The East Surrey Endoscopy Department is a state-of-the-art 4 procedure room suite. We provide a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy – Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopies, ERCPs, and Bronchoscopy Services. We also provide pH & manometry and capsule Endoscopy. We have Bowel Scope lists as part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and are developing our service to become a stand-alone unit in the future. At Crawley Endoscopy, we undertake Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy – Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, and Flexible Sigmoidoscopies.
The candidate will take part in an on-call rota for GI Bleeds.
