Fixed Term Contract June 2025 for around 15 months
Job Function:
Tuckwells are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team. Initially a 15-month Maternity cover this role could develop to a permanent role. We are looking for someone who loves problem solving, thinking analytically and is a good communicator, who will fit our friendly yet professional work culture.
Essential Duties:
* Assist with month end tasks such as preparing and posting general ledger journals and completing general ledger transactions analysis as scheduled in the month end close schedule
* Prepare selected profit and loss ledger accounts analysis
* Support preparation of monthly accounts
* Assist with sales ledger reconciliations
* General upkeep and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
* Assisting the wider finance function as required.
* Providing support in dealing with telephone calls and general office administration, where required.
Skills and Qualifications:
* You will have to communicate effectively with other team members and have the ability to work well in a team
* You will have the ability to analyse data and enjoy problem solving
* You will be highly motivated, have a curious mind that is willing to learn new skills
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
* Educated to A level standard with a high level of numeracy and literacy (GCSE Grade C/5 or above in Maths and English)
* You will be able to manage your own time and work to deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail
* Previous experience within an Accounts department (1-2 years) would be an advantage but is not required.
