What you will do:
1. Deliver comprehensive social work services including needs assessment, care planning, and child protection investigations to maintain family unity and safeguard children in accordance with departmental policies and relevant laws.
2. Support the establishment of alternative permanent care arrangements for children needing separation from their families, while supervising fostering and adoption plans.
3. Elevate the profile of our children's services in public interactions and collaborations with external agencies.
4. Conduct child protection investigations and act as the key worker for children or young people with Child Protection Plans, fulfilling all necessary statutory duties.
5. Assess and effectively manage the risks associated with vulnerable children and young people with guidance from the Team Manager and Service Manager.
6. Contribute to monitoring and reviewing established services, aiming for continual service improvement.
7. Supervise non-professionally qualified staff, such as family support workers, ensuring adherence to best practices and assisting in staff development.
