Job title: Sub Agent

Contract length: 3-6 month initial contract - Potential to be extended

Balfour Beatty are looking to appoint a Sub Agent to work on a highways project on the A46 executing a Bridge Slide in the Kenilworth area on a 3-6 month initial contract basis. This will involve closure planning, closure and all relevant finishing works.
The successful Sub Agent will be responsible for:
1. Leading and controlling a section of the site works, and providing management of a team of Section Engineers.
2. Reviewing and checking deliverable documents.
3. Implementing systems and processes to support construction of the works in accordance with the specification (e.g., Materials Approval, NCR, Handover Documentation).
4. Carrying out trend analysis and identifying improvement areas for nonconformance and business improvement.
5. Conducting Independent Inspections of their own section of works.
6. Performing Site Audits to check works and documentation compliance.
7. Producing a section programme in the accepted format/software.
8. Tracking and monitoring KPI compliance and recommending improvements to maintain team production.
9. Establishing monitors of production, translated to graphical form from the Programme.
10. Cross-referencing section programme to stage programme and ensuring compatibility.
11. Understanding and implementing technical requirements associated with offshore installation work scope.
12. Resolving construction/delivery issues, drawing on experience and accepted industry best practice.
13. Maintaining accurate records, including dialogue with external organisations (subcontractors).
14. Managing sub-contractors.
15. Understanding cost and value.
16. Drafting correspondence to sub-contractors, suppliers, and Client.
Key Skills / Experience:
1. Sub Agent experience in structural RC works preferred; would also consider strong experience in drainage, highways, and earthworks.
2. Previous possession works experience and ability to work under time-critical pressure.
3. Large scale civils infrastructure project experience.
4. Good background in Engineering / Civil Engineering.
5. Valid CSCS and SMSTS OR SSSTS qualified.
6. Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure compliance.
7. Suggesting and implementing improvements to systems.
8. Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity.
9. Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours given the offshore environment.
10. Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
11. Excellent team player.
12. Strong communication skills with a solution-oriented approach to issue resolution.
13. Demonstrating required behaviours to align to project and team objectives.
