We are currently working with a London-based consultancy as they look to add a Project Structural Engineer to their growing team.

A central London location provides excellent accessibility to local, national and international clients.
Quality, innovation, excellence in design and cost efficiency is at the forefront of their objectives as demonstrated in many past and current projects. They have a vast experience in refurbishment projects, which include commercial as well as residential buildings. In addition, their experience extends in the design of new structures including tall buildings, as well as specialist structural glass and steel.
Their current crop of engineers are recognised team players within a design group and exercise in full the unique set of high level skills in structural engineering that brings added value to the team. This is not an add-on service but one of the main principles of the practice: to be the best at engineering in a practical, client-centered approach.
Their areas of expertise include:
* Commercial and Industrial developments

* Party Wall engineering services
As part of their service they undertake the following:
* Initiation of soil and specialist surveys
* Economic appraisals and feasibility studies
* Preparation of preliminary schemes and specifications
* Structural and civil engineering design
* Evaluation of contract tenders
* Preparation of complete working drawings
* Monitoring of construction works
* Inspection and assessment of existing structures
* Advice and design solutions to problems resulting from fire damage, subsidence, instability or other structure failure or inadequacy.
A typical candidate will be an experienced, clear thinking, confident and self-motivated engineer who is looking to manage their own projects. You will be Chartered, or non-Chartered with at least four years varied design office experience. Ideally you will have most of the following skills:-
1. Conceptual design
2. Detailed design of reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry and timber
3. Steelwork connection design
4. Temporary works design
5. Good verbal communication
6. Good report and letter writing ability
7. Site inspection and surveys
8. Sketching of construction details
9. Willingness to explore new areas of work
10. Ability to make decisions
