An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated CAD Design Engineer to join a large, well-respected organisation within the Industrial / Manufacturing industry, located in Birmingham. The role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of manufacturing principles.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Producing highly detailed and manufacturing drawings inline with BS8888 using Solidworks, whilst maintaining MRP systems and PDM, ensuring high levels of accuracy and data.
2. Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOM).
3. Define and apply appropriate Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
4. Represent Engineering in meetings when required, taking full responsibility for any Engineering commitments that have been agreed.
5. Ensure processes and procedures are carried out across the whole team through internal audits.
6. Introduce and maintain Engineering processes for technical drawings and validation.
7. Work to project plans, autonomously or with the appropriate project lead.
8. Ensure continued communication and good relationships with external and internal customers.
9. Liaise with and provide technical support to applications and production.
10. Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
Profile
A successful CAD Design Engineer should have:
1. High level of technical drawing abilities in line with BS8888.
2. Sound knowledge of Geometrical, Dimensioning and Tolerancing / limits and fits.
3. Proficient Solidworks user.
4. Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
5. Proven experience in CAD role, ideally within regulated industries (e.g., defence, aviation, automotive).
6. Ability to produce highly accurate working 2D CAD drawings using 3D modelling in line with design and manufacturing requirements.
7. An excellent communicator.
8. Ability to maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, design calculations and files in line with processes and procedures.
9. Deliver Results - create momentum and pace to drive results.
