Financial Accounting Manager Our client, a global leader in manufacturing and distributing construction materials, is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to join their finance team in South Leeds. About the Role As a Financial Accounting Manager, you will oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) & Expense team, ensuring smooth financial operations while managing tax returns, audits, internal controls, and financial reporting. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while leading a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Accounts Payable (AP) & Expense team, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense claims. Oversee year-end group reporting, statutory financial statements, and audit planning. Prepare and submit company tax returns, VAT filings, and manage responses to tax audit enquiries. Work with external tax advisors to ensure accurate tax computations and timely payments to HMRC. Conduct internal control testing across business areas and provide comprehensive supporting evidence. Review and enhance the internal control system to improve compliance and efficiency. Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports for senior management. Support the finance team in smooth month-end and year-end financial closures. Essential Knowledge & Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification. Strong experience in managing accounts payable, tax returns, and financial reporting. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools. Proven experience in leading finance teams and improving operational efficiency. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
