For this role, you are required to have an in date Enhanced Child DBS and previous experience working within a school setting.
Main Purpose:
* To provide academic and pastoral support to Sixth Form students so that they are well prepared for all aspects of Sixth Form life and beyond.
* To support the pastoral team on a day to day basis, providing administration as directed.
General Duties:
* Supporting the Head of Sixth Form and Pastoral Support Manager.
* Support, in liaison with SENCo, Senior Staff and Tutors, student's personal and social development.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with students needing support.
* Attend appropriate meetings to discuss options for levels of pastoral support with Parents and Senior Staff.
* Mentor students on a 1-1 basis.
* Support break and lunch time duties.
* Liaise with external agencies regarding student transfers.
* Liaise with parents and external agencies to arrange meetings.
* Communicate effectively with parents and staff.
* Attend relevant meetings as required.
* Undertake training related to the post for performance development.
* Collation of behaviour reports, strategies and plans.
* Responsible for the management of significant information management systems.
* Responsible and accountable for producing appropriate data for analysis.
* Produce statistical information.
* To make an active contribution to the school's ongoing development of its pastoral team including rewards and recognition for students.
* Help fill in for other members of the pastoral team in their absence.
Staffing and Resources:
* Supporting the pastoral team.
* Produce reports on behaviour, achievement and attendance.
* Produce letters to be sent home to students.
* Support the admin team where required.
* Help fill in for other members of the pastoral team in their absence.
* Positively engage in appraisal reviews as directed by line manager.
* Promote teamwork and effective working practices.

Other Specific Duties:
* Record daily Sixth Form attendance and carry out follow-up procedures and implement strategies for increasing attendance of Sixth Form students.
* Support the Head of Sixth Form by providing student support throughout the school day and by providing academic support for students through the delivery of one-to-one and small group intervention sessions.
* Provide support to Year 12 and 13 students with their post-18 choices and application processes (UCAS / Apprenticeships) and liaise with the school careers advisors to ensure additional IAG is available.
* Coordinate leadership opportunities for students, including the development of the Students Union.
* Support the recruitment, enrolment, and induction of new students.
* Manage the 16-19 Bursary Fund process to ensure that all eligible students receive the appropriate support.
* To attend relevant open evenings and parents' evenings as and when required.
* Play a full part in the life of the Trust community, to support its vision, mission, and values.
* Be an ambassador of the ethos and to encourage and ensure staff and students follow this example.
* Be courteous to colleagues and be welcoming to visitors.
* Comply with the Trust's Health and Safety Policy and undertake risk assessments as appropriate.
