Job summary Tees Valley Children in Care Service have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse who would like to develop their existing, transferable knowledge and skills in working with Children in Care. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to deliver under pressure. The Tees Valley Children in Care Team is based in West Middlesbrough Family Hub. This role is predominantly visiting Children and Young People in the Darlington and North of the Tees area, however you may be asked to do visits across any Tees Valley area if service need requires it. You will work in various community settings including the homes of children, children's residential homes, supported lodgings, schools, colleges, community family hubs, or choice of the child or young person. Main duties of the job The aim of the Children in Care Nurse is to promote optimum health and wellbeing whilst ensuring children and young people are safeguarded. This will include gathering information from clinical records and partner agencies to assess and analyse risk, in order to undertake a holistic health assessment. The successful applicant will be part of a team working in collaboration with partner agencies to make a positive difference to the lives of Children in Care across the Tees Valley. Main duties will be to manage a 'caseload' of Children in Care for your specified area and ensure that they have Review Health Assessments carried out effectively and within statutory timescales. Essential requirements for the role are NMC registration with a full UK driving licence and access to your own transport in order to meet service needs.
