* Manufacturing engineering for both New Product Introductions (NPI) and Current Product Engineering (CPE)
* Collaborates with cross-functional teams including design (mechanical and electrical), process, test, reliability, supply chain, sourcing, and logistics to resolve production issues and identify opportunities for design and manufacturability improvements
* Works with suppliers, sourcing, and design teams to develop standards, processes, and instrumentation (SPI), and qualify external production materials
* Develops and maintains process improvements aimed at reducing production costs and increasing yields
* Recommends changes in the selection and application of components, materials, and systems, and may propose design or formulation modifications to improve system/process reliability
* Leads Field Change Orders (FCOs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
* Creates, reviews, and updates assembly and work procedures to ensure standardization and compliance with specifications
* May lead process improvement initiatives with other teams
* Drives communication, understanding, and ownership in relation to process improvements and new product introduction requirements
* Identifies testing opportunities to enhance line productivity and yield by meeting product requirements
* Provides feedback on BOM structure, including manufacturing requirements for strategic assembly design
* Analyzes prototype and production data to identify root causes, understand process control limits, determine failure modes, and manage out-of-control processes
* Designs process improvement fixtures using CAD and qualifies them to demonstrate process cycle time improvements or cost savings
* Develops production line setups for new products, continuously improving processes throughout the project, including analyzing and submitting CapEx projects for approval
* Represents the business at Change Control Board meetings
Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineering:
* Develops, implements, and reviews manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and processes for components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies or extrusion
* Recommends tooling and process improvements for existing product lines to increase efficiency and reduce costs
* Maintains records and reporting systems for manufacturing operations coordination
* Provides guidance and mentorship to junior engineering and operations staff regarding technical information, manufacturing processes, and requirements
Requirements:
