The Role:
As the Train Cleaning Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of cleaners, ensuring that all trains are cleaned to the highest standard. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Supervising and motivating your team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to the company’s standards.
2. Allocating duties and ensuring the team follows the cleaning schedule, which includes full and deep cleans, hoovering, mopping, bleaching, de-tanking of toilets, and sanitising touchpoints.
3. Conducting regular quality checks to ensure high standards of cleanliness and identifying areas for improvement.
4. Training new team members on cleaning procedures and health & safety practices.
5. Managing stock levels of cleaning supplies and ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and safe to use.
6. Liaising with management regarding team performance and any issues that may arise on the shift.
7. Assisting with hands-on cleaning tasks, ensuring you lead by example and maintain the cleanliness of all areas, ready for the next day’s service.
The Candidate:
Are you a hands-on, responsible leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment? If so, this role is for you! We are looking for someone with prior experience in cleaning (preferably in transportation or industrial environments), who can motivate and lead a small team to achieve their best. You will need to be proactive, detail-oriented, flexible, and ready to take pride in ensuring the trains are presentable for public use.
Requirements:
8. Experience in vehicle, industrial, or domestic cleaning.
9. Strong leadership skills with experience managing small teams.
10. A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintaining high cleaning standards.
11. Ability to work in a physically demanding role, standing for most of your shift.
12. Flexible and reliable, able to work on a 4-week rotating shift pattern, from 20:00pm – 06:00am, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off, 2 on 2 off
13. Availability to work weekends on a rotational basis, with overtime available.
14. Eligibility to work in the UK and pass a full medical and drug & alcohol test.
Training and Pay:
Training will commence at Neville Hill Depot (Leeds) on the 9th of December. Full PPE will be provided.
Rate of Pay: £12.73 p/h for every hour worked.
