Summary You’ll work as part of our small team of staff at the Beatles’ Childhood Homes, reporting into our Welcome & Service Assistant Manager. You’ll work alongside staff at Speke Hall as tours depart from this location, so you’ll play a crucial role in taking visitors to both the Beatles’ Childhood Homes have an enjoyable time with us. Hours: 600 hours a year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. The role will consist of a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week 7 - 7.5hrs per day, weekends included, with additional hours available for holiday cover. Flexibility is appreciated but we’re happy to discuss various rota options. What it's like to work here You’ll be driving a simple, local route with plenty of break time built into the timetable. What you'll be doing As our Tour driver, you will provide visitors from around the world with first class customer service. You’ll be responsible for transporting them to and from one of two pick up points and taking them to the childhood homes of Sir Paul McCartney & John Lennon where our tour guides will give them a fascinating insight into the birth of the Beatles. Don’t worry about being a tour guide: your role is to safely drive the bus and to make our visitors feel welcome. It’s a really fun role with lots of chances to chat to visitors from around the globe. You’ll be responsible for daily checks and cleanliness of our mini bus each day as well as some simple reporting of passenger figures on a pre-printed document. Who we're looking for Must have a full, valid driving licence with D1 category and a PCV and have a good knowledge of the Highway Code and driving safely. Ability to provide our visitors with a world class service, full of enthusiasm and dedication Knowledge and a love of the Beatles would be useful, but you don’t need to be an expert. Friendliness, confidence interacting with the public and willingness to learn are essential. Ability to stick to a timetable and work within our operational guidelines and procedures.
