Staff Nurse - Oncology Ward

£34,130 - £43,730 pa dependent on experience plus enhancements
Full Time - 13 shifts per month, days/nights/weekends (08:00-20.30, 20:00-08:30)

As a Staff Nurse on the Oncology Ward, you will focus on ensuring the provision of high-quality evidence-based nursing care in a clinical setting and you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the care the team delivers.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
* You will provide high quality physical and psychological care with compassion, and participate in the delivery of a consistent, safe service in all aspects of the patient journey whilst demonstrating a culture of customer service and manage care of allocated patients.
* You will need to be competent to undertake the role and confidently and safely communicate patients care needs.
* You will act as a Link Nurse in a designated area reporting to and from meetings/training updates and recognise the needs for DOL’s assessments, mental capacity assessment and ‘simple’ and ‘complex’ safeguarding referrals and highlight any concerns.
* You will be responsible for the assessment of patients care needs and for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care. The administration of SACT, toxicity management and palliative care provision are key elements as an Oncology Staff Nurse.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
* NMC Registered
* Experience in similar oncology setting (desirable)
* Current ILS certificate
* Venepuncture & Wound care competencies
* Ability to deliver high standards of care.
