This is an incredibly rewarding and essential role, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism or more complex physical needs to access high quality and important respite support, giving them an opportunity to engage with others, support their wellbeing as well as offer a short respite break to their families and carers.
This role is part-time, covering 2 waking nights per week, around 20 hours. It would really suit someone looking for flexibility, working on a rota basis, including some weekends.
Working in this respected and well regarded service and for a values driven charity, you'll work in a dedicated team providing a safe, nurturing and homely environment - a real home from home.
You might be someone with experience of working in a health and / or social care environment or someone with caring skills who would like to develop a career in this area. Importantly, you'll be someone with the values needed to offer consistent and reliable support to children and young people and you'll feel comfortable supporting them to live their lives to the full. This will sometimes include personal care, supporting in the evening to get the rest they need and to be ready in the morning for the day ahead.
We'll tell you more about this role and the shift patterns when we speak to you.
