Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Gloucester
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Quality Engineer:
1. Monitor, assess and report on product and process quality to ensure manufacturing meets required standards.
2. Carry out root cause analysis and problem solving using recognised methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, A3 or DMAIC.
3. Raise and manage corrective action requests, ensuring timely and effective close-out.
4. Support and drive Lean and Six Sigma methodologies across the business unit.
5. Promote a Zero Non-Conformance and Right First Time culture.
6. Review and improve standard operating procedures and processes.
7. Conduct internal and external quality and compliance audits.
8. Analyse customer complaints, contributing to continuous improvement of customer satisfaction and business KPIs.
9. Produce quality reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
Key Skills and Experience of a Senior Quality Engineer:
1. Minimum HNC in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering.
2. Quality Management Diploma (or equivalent).
3. Trained in Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, 8D, A3, DMAIC).
4. Qualified Internal Auditor (Lead Auditor certification beneficial).
5. In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
6. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
7. Experienced in structured, data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement practices.
8. Working knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
9. Competent user of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
10. Minimum one year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and practical background.
