Job Role: Care Assistant
Location - Edinburgh, Midlothian
A Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily living activities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. They work in various settings such as care homes, residential homes, hospitals, or clients' own homes, delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Personal Care
o Assist with daily personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
o Help clients with mobility, including lifting, moving, or using mobility aids like wheelchairs or hoists.
2. Health Monitoring
o Observe and record changes in the client’s health or behavior.
o Support with medication administration under supervision.
3. Emotional and Social Support
o Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
o Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
4. Household Assistance
o Help with light household tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
o Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and comfortable.
5. Communication and Reporting
o Maintain accurate care records, documenting activities and observations.
o Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Training
* Essential:
o Care Certificate

* Desirable:
o First Aid and CPR certification
o Manual Handling training
o Medication Administration
o UK driving license
Working Hours
* Typically work on a shift basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
