The job itself
In 2026, Goole will celebrate its 200th anniversary and there is a strong local desire to celebrate that milestone. Plans are progressing for a 2026 festival/programme of events which will celebrate Goole’s bicentenary year.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Programme Coordinator to oversee the planning of a cultural programme. Primarily hosted by East Riding of Yorkshire Council & through work with Goole 2026 project board, local organisations and community groups, it will support Goole’s residents to create & participate, building on the town’s rich heritage and diverse range of cultural offer.
The main objective of the role is to collaborate with cultural and heritage groups, the voluntary sector, local businesses, and event organisers to inspire the community, build capacity, and develop quality events to meet the regeneration and cultural aspirations of the town. This involves sourcing funding and creating and delivering a cultural and events programme that supports forward strategies (e.g. Goole Town Deal) by increasing town centre visits, footfall, and engagement leading up to 2026 and beyond.
