Castle Surveys Ltd is excited to announce a unique and dynamic opportunity for a passionate Senior Ecologist to establish and lead our brand-new Ecology Department. We are seeking a driven, experienced professional who is eager to make their mark by building this department from the ground up, offering their expertise and insight to both our existing clients and new projects.

At Castle Surveys Ltd, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality land and building survey services. Now, with a growing demand for ecological consultancy, we are expanding our services to include a fully integrated ecology division. This is where you come in!
The Role:
As our Senior Ecologist, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to develop and shape our Ecology Department. You will lead a variety of ecological surveys, assessments, and projects, working with our established client base and engaging with new clients. Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting Bat, Bird, Reptile and other wildlife surveys.
* Leading on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and consulting.
* Providing expert ecological advice and recommendations to clients.
* Managing all ecology-related projects, from conception to completion.
* Building and developing a team of ecologists to support project demands.
* Working collaboratively with other departments to integrate ecological insights into wider projects.

About You:
You’re a motivated and enthusiastic ecologist with:
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Significant experience in ecological surveys (including protected species such as bats, birds, and reptiles).
* Experience with BNG assessments and ecological consulting.
* Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead and deliver.
* A full UK driving license.
* A desire to grow and develop a team, along with the ambition to help expand Castle Surveys Ltd’s ecology services.
