Job description This is a key role within the Estates operating model, making sure the building and facilities are safe and fully operational 24 hours a day, while providing an exceptional customer experience. In this role you will act as deputy to the Head of Estates (HOE) and provide safeguards on their behalf including; Health and Safety by ensuring compliance with legal and Departmental standards in the areas of fire safety and building related health and safety Incident Planning and Business Continuity to monitor and assure in line with Departmental standards in the areas of business continuity, working on behalf of the HOE to help lead the Command and Control Team in the event of a BCP incident Sustainable Development to foster pro-active approaches to building related environmental issues Customer Service to act as Estates coordinator and representative on behalf of all HMRC business units and Government Departments in the building, coordinating all Estates activity as required by the Departments on site Person specification The post holder will also lead a team of subject matter experts including Health & Safety Manager, Incident Control / Business Continuity Manager and Customer Service Apprentice, providing clear and effective leadership and developing the team capability to a high professional level. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and customer relationship management across the team. Essential Criteria: To be successful in this position the post holder must be able to demonstrate significant recent experience of; Building management Health and Safety Business continuity Working within a property profession / facilities management discipline Delivering strong customer service Essential to develop towards: If not already held, you must be willing to obtain Membership of Chartered Management Institute in Leadership / Customer Service at Level 4 or equivalent within 24 months of take up duty.
