Then please read on Our Recycling & Refuse Team perform a key role in providing an excellent recycling and refuse collection service to the Council’s residents. You will be able to work outdoors in all weathers, and deal with a very physically demanding job. It is essential that you are a team player and can communicate with your colleagues and customers, clearly and politely; showing a clear understanding of what good customer care is. Compliance with health and safety guidance is very important for you, team members and the public, due to the heavy lifting machinery, dust, and fumes. Guidance, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided to all successful candidates. About the Role: Deliver garden waste bins to new members Deliver bin sets to new developments Repair/replace damaged/lost bins/container Bulk Waste Collections from various addresses across the Borough Exchange bins for residents paying for an upgraded bin Retrieval of garden waste bins from cancelled membership Delivery/retrieval of commercial waste bins to new and existing Ensure all bins/container are delivered within the councils SLA Keep bin storage area tidy Accepting bin deliveries (from an articulated lorry) and storage Prepare bins for deliveries to new developments Understand stock control and advise when orders are required Prepare second-hand garden waste bins for reuse Remove reusable parts from containers being sent for scrappage. About the Person: You will have the commitment to start the day at 6am and work a 36-hour week Monday to Friday Your clean driving licence (speeding points will be discussed) will allow you to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle and you will have a current and up to date CPC You must have a Tachograph card. You will have a basic Standard of English and Maths and capable of stock control. You will have basic computer skills (required to operate in cab tablet) You should have a good knowledge of Health and Safety You will Previous experience of working outdoors in all weathers.
