Technical Consultant - Strategic Projects
What you'll do on a typical day:
* Assist the Strategic Project Sales Manager and the Strategic Project Technical Manager in pursuing Climbing projects and major infrastructure and industrial projects across Canada.
* Build/maintain relationships with key customers, industry personnel, etc.
* Attend client meetings and liaise with the Sales team to ensure the safest and most cost-effective solutions are offered to our customers.
* Develop conceptual formwork, shoring and scaffolding solutions for infrastructure construction projects utilizing PERI’s more advanced systems.
* Along with PERI’s Technical Sales Consultants, work to provide the most cost-effective design solutions.
* Exhibit the knowledge and design skills associated with an experienced design professional.
* Create material lists and check material lists completed by others.
* Visit job sites and provide technical support on a regular basis.
* Coordinate with internal customers throughout the tender, offer and execution stages of a project.
What you'll need to be successful:
* A strong knowledge of all the main PERI systems’ features and benefits, particularly those associated with civil engineering applications such as VARIOKIT.
* Strong technical ability related to the civil engineering applications of PERI systems.
* A demonstrated ability to resolve customers’ issues and offer solutions.
* Excellent active listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* A proven ability to develop and build relationships and to identify and address customer needs.
* Experience with AutoCAD & MS Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Education and Qualifications:
* Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering required.
* 5+ years’ experience in Construction Engineering preferred. Will consider engineering experience from other industries.
* Strong communication skills required, as this position has direct contact with customers, answering technical questions and providing clarification.
* Demonstrated drive and determination to achieve sales goals.
* Formwork design experience: scaffolding design experience is an asset.
* 3+ years’ experience using AutoCAD is an asset.
* Demonstrated leadership skills.
* Good understanding of Canadian and Provincial Building Standards and Codes; understanding of European standards relevant to formwork and/or scaffolding is an asset.
* Up to 40% travel required. Vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
