Job Vacancy: SENCO Location: Harrow Contract Type: Full-time Start Date: Feb half term – Maternity cover Salary: Inner London main scale to UPS with a TLR We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school, which incorporates a well-established SEND provision, is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join our team. About the Role As SENCO, you will: Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive. Ensuring that school policies and procedures are in line with the latest governmental SEN policies and regulations Ensuring that the school is equipped with adequate equipment and facilities for special educational needs, including wheelchair accessibility and audio-visual learning aids Preparing and leading SEN training for Teachers and Teaching Assistants Assessing the specific educational needs of children with learning disabilities and providing recommendations for their support Producing regular reports and updates on the educational progress of children to Senior Teachers and parents Providing referrals for children to receive support outside of school hours, from Therapists, Medical Specialists or Tutors Requirements for SENCO role; A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND. National Award for SEN Coordination (or a commitment to achieving it within 3 years). In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals. A commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity within the school community.
