Community Physiotherapy
Please note: This is a fixed-term post for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team here in the Borders area with our ambition to deliver high quality care to our patients as part of the Community AHP Service. This post is based in the Berwickshire area with close transport links to Edinburgh and rest of the Borders. You will be working within the Home First team with a focus on community person-centred care to promote our patients to live as independently as possible within their preferred environment, primarily preventing admissions and ensuring timely supported discharge back to home.
As a clinician, you will independently assess and treat routine and complex patients in the community setting with a variety of conditions, managing your own caseload and signposting to other services when required. Therefore, clinical experience in orthopaedics, neurology, medicine of the elderly, and frailty in community patient groups is essential.
You will be supported in your own professional development and have the opportunity to pursue clinical interests while continuing to deliver a service across a broad base of practice. You will also benefit from working within a skilled and supportive team to promote yours and others’ professional development with a timely professional supervision and appraisal structure.
We welcome enquiries and would love to hear from you.
For further information please contact: Michelle Laing, Community AHP Team Lead at michelle.laing2@nhs.scot.
Please note: the salary quoted is for full-time hours (37 hrs per week). For appointments to part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rata.
**PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early.**
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
