Team Lead - Residential Care Home

We are a CQC-rated "Good" care home in Dudley, dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for our 35 residents, many of whom are living with dementia. Our team is committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment that supports each resident's dignity, well-being, and independence.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Lead to join our care team. This role is ideal for a strong Senior Carer who is passionate about delivering high standards of care and is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities. The Team Lead will be a critical part of our care home, ensuring that resident care plans are properly followed, supporting the training and development of Senior Carers, and collaborating with external healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage individualised care plans for residents, ensuring they are up-to-date, person-centred, and accurately reflect each resident's needs and preferences.
2. Ensure correct techniques and best practices are followed in all areas of care, including mobility assistance, personal care, and daily activities.
3. Act as a mentor and point of support for Senior Carers, offering guidance on best practices, care techniques, and professional development.
4. Work closely with district nurses, GPs, and other healthcare professionals, coordinating care assessments and implementing any specific medical or therapeutic interventions.
5. Conduct regular care plan reviews, assessments, and updates for residents, adjusting care as necessary to meet changing needs.
6. Ensure accurate and thorough record-keeping that complies with CQC standards and internal policies. Support the team in understanding and meeting compliance requirements.
7. Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and teamwork among staff, ensuring all care interactions prioritise residents' dignity and quality of life.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Proven experience as a Senior Carer or similar role within a care setting, with a strong understanding of dementia care.
2. Relevant Health and Social Care qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or above preferred).
3. Solid experience with resident care plans, assessments, and a good understanding of CQC standards.
4. Confidence in working with district nurses and other healthcare professionals.
5. Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills.
6. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering the highest standards of care.
7. A positive, compassionate approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
