Essential Requirements: Valid Current Driving Licence, Qualification - NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a related field.
The Role:
1. To support children and young people from the age of 2 to 16 years old with social, emotional and mental health difficulties within their school/nursery and home setting. This includes individual interventions, within a group or classroom environment, along with regular communication and advice for families in the home.
2. To model/coach/deliver training to school staff in appropriate approaches and interventions and be able to evidence positive impact.
3. To work with independence, initiative and maintain accurate records.
4. The role includes attending multi-agency meetings, along with writing detailed reports i.e. to support a request to assess for an EHCP, CAMHS referrals, observation and intervention reports.
5. To provide advice to Headteachers and school staff on whole school and individual positive behaviour management strategies.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a school setting supporting children and young people, with experience and knowledge of managing challenging situations, along with experience of working within the home setting. They would also have a comprehensive knowledge of a range of interventions and understanding of analysing assessments and be flexible and adapt as required using a solution-focused approach, with good communication skills.
