Rate: £221.67 per day (non-negotiable, fixed rate) uplifts for nights & weekends Company van provided (either a welfare van or small basic pickup) Hours: Includes weekend, night, and emergency work flexibility Pay & Uplifts Fixed Day Rate: £221.67 per day Uplifts: ·25% (Mon-Fri nights & Saturday days) ·50% (Saturday nights & Sunday days) ·75% (Sunday nights) About the Role My client is seeking a Thermal Supervisor with proven experience in asphalt surfacing and full industry-recognised qualifications. This is not a development role-you must be fully ticketed and ready to take on responsibility from day one. While you will be linked to the Bury St Edmunds team, work will take place across sites up to the M25. As a Thermal Supervisor, you will: ✅ Oversee day-to-day operations on highways, maintenance, and repair works (including thermal solutions). ✅ Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient, high-quality work. ✅ Conduct site inspections, audits, and maintain compliance with health & safety regulations. ✅ Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and site staff. ✅ Complete risk assessments, toolbox talks, and daily shift briefings. What We Need from You Essential: ✔ Proven supervisory/foreman experience in asphalt surfacing operations. ✔ Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, surfacing methods, and techniques. ✔ Full UK Driving Licence. ✔ Gold CSCS Card & SSSTS/SMSTS. ✔ NRSWA Supervisor Certification (New Roads & Street Works Act). ✔ Safety Critical Medical & Highways Common Induction (high-speed roads). ✔ Ability to use Microsoft Office and digital site apps (e.g. Reflow). Desirable (Advantageous but Not Mandatory): ✔ IOSH Health & Safety qualification. ✔ Experience in night shifts and diverse construction projects. ✔ Train the Trainer / Presentation skills.
