Job Description
These are part time posts and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.
You will be part of a team within a modern 84 bedded care home working as a Care Assistant in an established care team ensuring the delivery of person centred care for our residents. You will promote and encourage meaningful activity and interaction throughout your day.
The role will include promoting quality standards to comply with current legislation and council policy. To contribute to Residents care and support and be part of the team providing updates to families, contributing to electronic care notes, meaningful activities, outings and ensuring all aspects of individualised care is supported. We have a pathway for development to Senior Posts, training opportunities and peer support for staff.
The role requires an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6 or SVQ 2 Health and Social Care, however, d on't worry if you do not have care experience or if you are changing direction in your career, we will support you with full training to develop your skills and obtain the relevent qualifications. If you are successful, you must be willing to undertake the qualification within 3 months of appointment. Currently our staff are being supported to apply through a local training provider and the SVQ is currently being funded.
Annual salary is enhanced with an additional 10% shift allowance for those working a rotational shift pattern.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here .
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
