About us
We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and detail-oriented Exams Support Lead to assist the Exams Officer in ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of internal and external examinations. This role is critical to maintaining the high standards of integrity and professionalism required during all stages of the exams process.
Nature and Scope
The Exams Support Lead will play an integral role within the examinations team, contributing to the organisation and delivery of a well-run exams programme. You will assist with a range of responsibilities, including managing entries, organising venues and resources, coordinating invigilators, and maintaining compliance with examination regulations.
This position demands excellent administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the school. Proficiency in IT and a willingness to learn new systems are essential. Experience in education or examinations is advantageous but not required, as training will be provided.
*Working hours will vary throughout the year, with full-time hours required during mock and formal exam periods and part-time hours outside of these times. This will be discussed in detail at interview.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Working as part of this integral team, you will be required to carry out the following duties:
1. Support with organising internal exam timetables, including mock exams (Years 10-13).
2. Assist with preparing venues for exams, including seating plans, labels, and liaising with the site team.
3. Support the arrangement and coordination of invigilators’ timetables.
4. Help train invigilators as required.
5. Assist with entering students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (and equivalent qualifications).
6. Ensure compliance with JCQ regulations when dealing with exam papers, working to a high degree of accuracy.
7. Support the secure upload of coursework.
8. Support with resolving exam clashes in accordance with JCQ regulations.
9. Support emergency access arrangements as needed.
10. Be available to support results days, including distributing results and assisting with post-results services.
11. Set up and manage computer equipment for exams access arrangements, such as computer reading software.
12. Invigilate exams when required.
13. Provide administrative support as required to ensure the smooth operation of the exams process.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Acting as a contingency for the Exams Officer during absences, if required.
2. Undertaking any other duties as reasonably requested to ensure the effective delivery of the examinations programme.
