Job overview
An exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals looking for a new challenge in health care, or someone looking to expand their skills. You will assist with providing a range of cardiac investigations on patients in our busy department at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. These procedures include Electrocardiograms (ECG), fitting and removing ECG monitoring devices, assisting the cardiac physiologists in more advanced tests where necessary as well as general administrative work.
This job is advertised at band 3 subject to eligibility.
You will be expected to study for the SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography.
Previous experience of working in a Cardiology Department or other healthcare environment would be an advantage.
Although based primarily at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children there may be an expectation to cover other UHBW NHS Trust service delivery sites. Working hours will be subject to review as the service develops, therefore a flexible approach is essential.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver an efficient, pleasant and compassionate service to our patients.
* Actively assist with the delivery, management, organisation and planning of the paediatric ECG and ambulatory monitoring service.
* Work, communicate and liaise closely with the Service Manager, and Lead Non-Invasive Cardiac Physiologist for Ambulatory Monitoring.
* Co-ordinate with clinical and managerial staff to arrange procedures, either in the department or on the ward.
* Input data onto documentation workspaces for every procedure undertaken.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
* Ability to undertake in house training programme.
* NVQ level 3/ QCF Level 3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent or working towards.
* GCSE A*- C in both English Language and Mathematics or equivalent in these two subjects e.g. Certificates in Adult Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2.
Desirable criteria
* SCST ECG exam.
* Basic Life Support.
