DevOps Engineers Gloucestershire MOD DV Active Clearance Required £50-70k LM Recruitment are looking for experienced DevOps engineers with current DV clearance to work in Gloucestershire. The role is office based and working alongside our client base team and involves the maintenance and support of a highly critical service in c ollaboration with client operations and security teams to ensure service remains optimised for performance and compliance. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implement and manage customer-requested integrations Embed security practices throughout the software development lifecycle Monitor and log application and infrastructure health, troubleshooting and optimising system performance based on key metrics Deploy updates, fixes, and perform regular maintenance Provide second-line technical support Build tools and automation to reduce errors and enhance customer experience Perform root cause analysis for production errors and implement long-term solutions Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently Automate tasks, including visualisation and reporting processes Design and implement troubleshooting and maintenance procedures Collaborate with teams for requirement gathering and documentation Foster automation, orchestration, and Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) best practices Promote a problem-solving mindset and a strong team-oriented approach Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to systematically work through a problem with spares information, sometimes involving unfamiliar technology, is a core enable to making an impact Ensuring stability and supportability of common hosting infrastructure Identifying opportunities to standardise and automate common tasks and to create self-service tools Additional opportunities may arise in future to support development teams e.g. aiding initiates such as cloud adoption, system reliability/stability and the resolution of technical debt TECHNICAL SKILLS Essential Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools like Terraform Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks. CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitPod or Concourse CI. Networking: Knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, VPNs, load balancers, and DNS. Containers: Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Operating Systems: Basic Linux SysAdmin - RHCSA. Ansible, Puppet and Foreman for provisioning applications and writing modules to deploy applications Source Control: Git, BitBucket VM and container management and orchestration: Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, OpenStack Storage & Resource management: Ceph Infrastructure as code (Ansible/ Terraform) Monitoring Tools - Grafana Security and compliance tools AV tools, FreeIPA Team working tools Jira and Confluence Desirable Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified.
