Job Description: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Duration: Ongoing until at least Easter 2025
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong behaviour management skills, a passion for working with young children, and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
* Support the EYFS teacher in delivering a high-quality curriculum aligned with EYFS framework guidelines.
* Assist with planning and implementing creative and stimulating activities that promote development across all areas of learning.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, adapting tasks to suit individual needs and abilities.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Observe, monitor, and assess children’s progress, contributing to their learning journeys and maintaining accurate records.
* Support the social and emotional development of children, helping to create a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.
* Ensure the safety and welfare of all children, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to support children’s holistic development.
* Assist with the preparation and tidying of classroom resources, ensuring an organised and inviting learning space.
* Provide general administrative support to the EYFS team as required.
* Proven experience working within an EYFS setting.
* Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
* Demonstrated skills in managing challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the needs of the school and its pupils.
* Relevant qualifications in childcare or education (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, NVQ in Early Years, CACHE).
* A valid DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one prior to starting.
* Monday to Friday, 08.30am - 3.30pm, during term time.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
