WHAT OUR TEAM DOES The Product Development Team are responsible for the creation of Harry Potter eBooks and Digital Audiobooks in multiple languages. We create eBooks based on existing print editions and brand-new recordings of the stories using the best available narration and production talent, priding ourselves on creating market-leading products that utilise the latest in production techniques. We also strive to develop new products t hat highlight our unique brand in more accessible and different ways. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING You'll be instrumental in developing innovative companion audio products that bring the Harry Potter stories to life in fresh and exciting ways. You'll collaborate across all stages of the process—from brainstorming and planning to hands-on recording, editing, and mixing—ensuring that every detail is just right. While audiobooks are at the heart of what we do, you'll have the opportunity to draw inspiration from podcasts, social media, and other creative formats, pushing the boundaries to deliver truly unique and immersive audio content. Reporting to the Director of Product Development, you will be responsible for : Develop ing concepts for audio productions, including creating comprehensive briefs that cover the audio format, platform, target audience, content, tone of voice, resourcing requirements, potential budgets, and timelines. Collaborate with the Director of Product Development to present and advance concepts through the internal Project Development Process, securing sign-off from the Pottermore Leadership Team and other key stakeholders. Prototype new products ; definin g their scope, resources, costs, and timelines. Determine technical, creative, and resourcing needs for projects, select suitable candidates and production partners, and assist in contract negotiations. Identify casting needs, oversee the creation of casting briefs, and manage the casting process, ensuring candidates are properly reviewed and approved by the Brand & Franchise Team. Supervise the production of recording scripts in collaboration with scriptwriters and editors, ensuring adherence to guidelines and obtaining necessary approvals from internal stakeholders. Assist in selecting sound design partners and composers, create briefs, provide direction and feedback, and secure required signoffs. Coordinate with studio facilities and in-studio resources, offering support and feedback during recording sessions. Act as project manager by overseeing relationships with external production partners, establishing resource plans, scheduling, and budgeting, and ensuring projects are completed on time. Provide direction and feedback on editing, audio mixing, and mastering, while managing post-production and quality assurance processes. We regularly r ecording new versions the Harry Potter stories and other titles from our catalogue in foreign languages. Th is role will be expected to provide support to : S hort-list and gain stakeholder approval for narrators. Approv e recordings and manag e production schedule s. Give feedback on technical aspects of production and delivery. PERSON SPECIFICATION The role is ideal for someone with 5 years’ experience of all elements of the audio production process from ideation to post-production across multiple titles (audiobooks, podcasts, radio or other audio formats). Proven track record of developing and executing audio concepts, Experience working in a recording studio or production environment, Knowledge of the casting process and acting sector, Experience of the contracting process, Project management and stakeholder management e xperience Ability to prioritise workload across multiple workstreams.
