Farnell
Farnell, an Avnet company, is a global high-service distributor of technology products, services and solutions for electronic system design, maintenance and repair.
Our team in Leeds is currently recruiting a Shift Manager to join us in our Distribution Centre at Logic Industrial Park, Leeds 9.
If you are looking for a role within a global organisation, where customer focus is at the heart of what we do, a team that works hard and pulls together, our team is looking for you!
Our Shift Managers play a key role in managing activities such as packing, shipping, receiving, order fulfilment, stock handling, storing, distribution, and inventory management. You will support, coach, manage, and develop our Supervisors and Production Operatives.
Previous experience in a Distribution or Warehouse facility is essential, along with being a people person and managing a team (large or small). Key in this role is the ability to build relationships and engage with the team to ensure the best working environment while having fun along the way. We work to provide a high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands of our customers within the electronics industry.
Our new team member will be able to learn quickly. Our facility is new, and with this comes teething problems and ad hoc queries regarding processes and systems, so you need to be open to a challenge and support team members, while also participating in the onboarding of new employees and managing day-to-day employee relations activities within your area.
Why Join Our Team:
In addition to having a competitive salary and being part of a team striving to be the best, we offer a number of benefits including but not limited to:
* Life Cover and Income Protection
* Eye Care Vouchers
* Subsidised Canteen
* Long Service Awards
* Company Sick Pay
* Recommend a Friend
* Staff Discount
* Online Shopping Portal – Reward Hub
* Employee Assistance Program
* Give as You Earn Scheme
Our ideal candidates need to be able to:
* Manage experienced, professional employees and/or supervisors; and/or manage large, complex technical and/or business support teams.
* Be accountable for the performance and results of a team and/or department.
* Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department.
* Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contribute to budget development and performance standards of the department and direct reports.
* Collaborate with both internal and external team members across locations.
Our people are the most critical component of our long-term success. For over 100 years, the most common answer our employees have given to "What’s your favourite part about working for Farnell (an Avnet company)" is "the people." Not working on space shuttles. Not bringing the newest AI-powered IoT innovations to market. Our true success doesn’t come from products. It comes from people. People like you!
